Faraday composes an electronic letter to his wife, trying to articulate his observations about humanity. In the process we see several levels of changes happening. Josiah is becoming more distant and preoccupied. Faraday is adding another layer to his human skin suit. Molly is caught in between. And Spenser and Lisa are getting closer to discovering the source of the tornado from episode 1.

At the center is the task of simplifying Justin's equation. It all hinges on this and neither human nor alien seem to be able to solve it. The level of frustration rises. Help comes from an unexpected frequency.
